OCADO Website
Ocado sell a range of branded products as well as food and drink from Waitrose. The website is well designed and easy to use with lots of inspiring seasonal promotions and a separate Wine Cellar. The Ocado shop search is excellent and allows you to very quickly add items to your trolley without having to click back and forth in to each product. And for every search you'll find handy filters on the right allowing you to refine your list for items on offer, suitable for vegetarians or other criteria. When viewing products you have the choice to view them as a list, grid or text only. We found the grid option best as it made the product images larger so it was easy to shop by looking at the product images rather than reading lots of text.
TOP TIP - Find A List of Products
The best place to start for anyone doing their first Ocado shop is the 'Find a list of products' tab on the search box. Here you can enter all the products on your list rather than searching for them one by one. The Ocado shop then shows you the top products for each item in your list. It doesn't always show the products you want but is a quick way to get started.

We particularly like the ratings and reviews you can add against each product. At the time we ran our test shops there were only a small number of products with enough reviews but we're sure that will grow. Seeing what other customers think of new products we found really helpful when placing our Ocado shop.
Another useful feature is the Ocado Life online magazine with over 1000 recipes which you can add straight in to your Ocado shopping basket. It's easy to browse the recipes and print them out so you can make them when your order arrives.
One of the newest options on the Ocado shop is Instant Shop. Once you've placed a few orders it guesses what you like and creates an entire shop at the click of a button. You then just go through your trolley changing products if it hasn't got it right. It seems early days for this feature as it was sometimes far from the mark of the products we liked but we're sure this feature will only get better. We welcome the day when doing an Ocado shop online can be done in just a few clicks!

The Ocado shop has a lot of offers so if you’re shopping on a budget go straight to the Offers aisle online before you go anywhere else. You can even filter offers by type such as Half Price Offers or Buy One Get One Free so you get the best deals.

There are a lot of offer in the Ocado shop so checkout the filters on the right of the page that let you view Top Offers. These are the best offers of the week so you can be sure you're getting the best deal.

And don’t forget that shopping for your groceries online in the Ocado shop should save you money straight away. We found that by shopping online you can see your running trolley total at all times. It makes it easy to shop on a budget and means no nasty surprises when you reach the online checkout!
Ocado also run a price check every week against Tesco. We also liked the meal deals such as wine and pasta bundles. Shopping online meant we could bulk buy these if we had a busy week ahead and didn’t want to do too much cooking.
OCADO Delivery
You can have your Ocado groceries delivered 7 days a week. The charge varies depending on the time and day of delivery but is usually around the £3-5 mark. Book ahead and choose a mid week or late evening slot to get the cheapest or even free delivery charges. Although the minimum spend is only £40 if you spend over £75 in one Ocado shop then delivery will be cheaper.
If you think you will do a regular Ocado shop then you can buy their Ocado Delivery Pass. For a fixed monthly fee you can have unlimited free delivery but this only really works if you will use the Ocado shop as your main and regular supermarket.
Only one of our deliveries was late. We liked the SMS text we got prior to arrival reminding us that the delivery was on its way.
OCADO Driver Friendliness
We think the friendliness of the driver is very important as you’re inventing them in to your home. On the whole Ocado drivers were very friendly and noted if we were a new customers as well as always offering to bring the bags in to the kichen. We already knew the name of the driver as we received this on an SMS text before our order arrived. All our drivers were efficient and dropped off our groceries quickly and without fuss before driving off to their next delivery.
