Sainsburys Website
We've always liked the Sainsburys groceries website. It's nice to look at, easy to use and has the same feel as you get in branch, so it receives top marks. The aisles are layed out in simple lists and we found it easy to find the products we wanted. Adding an item to the basket was also quick so we could breeze through our list.

The product information is also really good too. There's clear nutritional information showing fat, salt and sugar content plus easy to read cooking instructions. We found this useful so we could see what would be suitable for a quick microwave meal during the week or for the kids.

If you've shopped before use the links at the top of the page and go to 'My Usuals'. This stores the items you bought previously making subsequent shops much quicker. You can view them either as a long list or broken down by aisle.

The Recipes & Tips section was useful as it allows you to add all the ingredients for a recipe straight in to your basket. However the choice of recipes was rather limited. The Shopping List feature is also very useful. Simply type in everything on your shopping list in one go and it brings up a choice of related products.

The only criticism of the Sainsburys groceries website was that if you forgot your password, it wasn't easy to get a new one. We ended up having to call Sainsburys Customer Service for help.

Sainsburys Groceries Offers
Although you might think of other supermarkets such as Asda and Morrisons when it comes to big money saving supermarket offers, we found it much easier to see offers online when we shopped for Sainsburys groceries. The Great Offers section is easy to find (use the link at the top of the page) and we like the way the offers are easy to see and add to your basket. You can also see all the Multi Buys such as Buy One Get One Free on one page as well as their Basics £1 range.

We felt there wasn't as many offers to choose from compared to some other supermarkets but shopping online made them much easier.
And don’t forget that shopping for Sainsburys groceries online should save you money straight away. We found that by shopping online you can see your running trolley total at all times. It makes it easy to shop on a budget and means no nasty surprises when you reach the online checkout.

Sainsburys Delivery
Sainsburys choice of delivery slots is comprehensive and we found it easy to book a slot on the website. Sainsburys groceries delivery costs £6 for orders under £40, which seems expensive but then £40 isn't a big order. From £40 to £100 delivery is usually £3.50 or free over £100 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. Thursdays we found popular as it allows you to get free delivery and its delivered just in time for the weekend.

You can change your order right up to 11pm the day before your delivery so great for those last minute changes.

We were also impressed by the delivery itself. All were within our chosen 1 hour time slot. We gave Sainsburys groceries delivery 4 rather than 5 out of 5 as some of the drivers weren't very friendly.

TOP TIP - Book a Delivery Slot Up To 21 Days In Advance
This will assign you to your nearest Sainsburys groceries branch so you can get the most popular slots such as Fridays and Weekends

Substitutions & Missing Items
Substitutions are items picked by your Sainsburys groceries personal shopper if the item you added online is not available. We always recommend you switch on substitutions. They won’t always be right but having them is better than the driver turning up with nothing.

However with Sainsburys groceries we had very few substitutions in our orders but did have missing goods on 3 separate occasions. In each case we rang Customer Services and they refunded us.

Sainsburys Groceries Driver Friendliness
We think the friendliness of the driver is very important as you’re inventing them in to your home. On the whole Sainsburys groceries drivers were OK but some didn't go out of their way to bring the items in to the kitchen and left them on the door step.

I don't understand why when my orders arrives, things that I have definitely ordered are no longer on my shopping list - this is becoming regular problem.

Sainsbury's cant tell the difference between a pink and red grapefruit and so far on all my orders have never managed to deliver the entirety of red grapefruits I order! (8 orders!!!)

We use on line because we don't have a car and it makes getting the heavy items easier. EXCEPT, the packers clearly have an aversion to heavy items as they never turn up as ordered (or just vanish from list) - this is particularly a problem with Tinned Sainsbury Own brand dog food and packaged trays of water. It happened again today and I am fed up -- time for change
