mySupermarket is the UK’s first and only supermarket comparison website for online grocery shopping. What does that mean? You may have already used comparison websites for your car or home insurance where you can compare prices across different companies. mySupermarket does just that but is the supermarket comparison site for groceries.
You can browse the aisles of the major online grocery stores including Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Ocado – even Majestic Wine and Virgin Wines. You’ll see all the same products, prices and offers which are updated daily which you can add to your trolley. Choose a supermarket such as Sainsburys and start shopping. The big difference is that with a supermarket comparison site you can instantly see how much your shop would cost if you had bought the same products in another supermarket like Asda or Tesco. With the click of a button you can swop your trolley to another supermarket instantly.
mySupermarket is a great supermarket comparison site as the aisles are well laid out and are easy to read such as Bakery, Fruit & Vegetables, Drinks, Baby etc. The product images are of high quality and large enough so you can add items to your trolley from the main search pages rather than having to click in and out of each product page. On each product page you’ll also find the supermarket comparison chart for that product so you can see how much an individual product costs at other supermarkets. If you’re in a hurry use the Quick Shop button in the top left of the page. Here you can enter a shopping list in one go and see all your favourite products ready to add to your trolley. One other neat feature is that you don’t have to login to shop – just enter your postcode and you can do a full shop before giving any further personal details.
Top Tip - You can use their supermarket comparison service even if you don’t shop online. Use it to create a list of the products and offers you love then print it out and take it to your favourite supermarket.
The mySupermarket comparison website is all about saving you money. Watch the total of your trolley add up at the top of the page and instantly see how much you could save by switching supermarket.
However if you love your supermarket and don’t want to switch you can still save money. With the ‘Swap & Save’ button at the top of the page, the mySupermarket supermarket comparison engine suggests cheaper alternative products to the ones you have selected. If you are happy to downshift to a cheaper brand or own label brand then you can make a huge saving on an average shop. mySupermarket makes shifting to cheaper brands really easy so you never miss a special offer.
Top Tip - When you are in each aisle look out for the supermarket comparison ‘Offers’ link in the top left. This shows you all the products on offer in each aisle making saving money quick and easy.
There’s not much more to say about the mySupermarket offers area. You simply do your shopping and either switch to cheaper brands or a cheaper supermarket all in a few clicks.
As well as making it simple to swop to cheaper alternative products, their supermarket comparison service also makes it easy to swop to healthier products too. MySupermarket analyses the fat, salt, sugar and calories of the products you have purchased and suggests healthier alternatives. Again all you have to do is make a few clicks and you not only have a cheaper grocery shop but a healthier one too!
mySupermarket doesn’t deliver your order for you. Once you have finished shopping you simply checkout (which takes under a minute in total), choose a suitable delivery time and their supermarket comparison system sends your order to your chosen online supermarket. Simply register or login as usual, pay and your order is complete. And because mySupermarket sends your order direct to your online supermarket, you’ll earn your usual loyalty points too.
One fantastic feature of mySupermarket is that you can view the delivery slots of all the major online supermarkets at the same time. So if you do your shop with Tesco but find there isn’t a delivery slot available when you want one, you can check if there’s a slot free with Asda. If there is you can instantly switch your trolley over to Asda to take advantage of the better delivery time. It really is that easy.
1) What’s a Guide Price? You’ll notice the price in your trolley is only a guide. This is because by the time your groceries have been delivered some offers may have changed or you may have ordered weighed items. No problem – just be prepared that the final price on your delivery receipt might be different. You can always send items back with the driver if you think the price change is too large.
2) If an item turns up damaged or with an expired sell by date / use by date you can give it back to your driver for a refund. If the driver has gone you can return the items to your nearest ASDA groceries store but we found that was usually too much hassle so if there was just the odd damaged item and the driver had already gone we simply put it in the bin and didn’t worry about it.
